Fieldwork is the culmination of decades of study, research, creative practice, mentorship, mistake-making, growth, healing, lived and professional experience, as well as knowledge gleaned from generations of cultural thrivance and agile resistance both in my blood and legacy lines and from the lands and communities I work with and for. It is difficult to know what to charge people to be part of this work.
As Professional Development I've had it valued in the tens of thousands (comparable to the rates charged by the university I work for) and yet as healing and recovery work I believe it should be accessible to all who yearn for liberation.
Some context - I'm a full time single parent (as in I am solely culturally, spiritually and financially responsible for my kids), I'm also responsible for multiple members of my extended family. I don't own property but I have do have multiple family and community options for a safe places to live, and places to borrow money/ feed my children when our family has been in crisis. I live with and manage chronic pain and illness. I employ community and family wherever possible, single parents especially.
I offer as much free and low fee work for community as I'm able, and ask that people reciprocate by healing themselves and serving the land and First Peoples wherever they live as a life long and intergenerational commitment to future generations.
